The work begins with an initial meeting and the preparation of a free estimate. During this meeting Patricia will measure the space, discuss her portfolio and get to know the client’s (or interior designer’s) sensibilities. Patricia firmly believes in and makes every effort to understand and express the client's individual taste and style. Each job is one of a kind and has unique requirements so jobs are never priced over the phone. If the walls cannot be seen in person Patricia can prepare a general estimate from to-scale floor plans and wall elevation drawings.
Second Meeting
Once the estimate and job is approved a second meeting is usually scheduled to pinpoint colors and sign contracts. At this meeting Patricia frequently borrows fabric samples or matches colors to a color chip deck so detailed sample boards or designs can be started for your custom finishes.
Third Meeting
At the third meeting Patricia will return with the newly completed sample boards or scale drawings; and the chosen finishes for the job will be finalized. The contract will read that the approved finish, which is seen on the sample board, will match the painted surface. This is an important step in the planning process.
Work Begins
When the job begins all the work areas are carefully masked and protected from paint and hazards. The tape lines are sealed with a clear acrylic sealant (to prevent seepage) and acrylic custom color recipes are carefully mixed and applied. When the job is finished touch-ups will be performed around the edges of the surface and the workspace will be tidied.
